Rooftop is looking for a full-time senior video editor to join our production team and collaborate closely with directors, content creators, and production teams to develop meaningful videos that will help change the world.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A portfolio of work or a showreel (*NB: required for consideration)
• Grade 12/Matric
• Tertiary education is advantageous (relevant qualification in film or video editing)

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5 – 10 years of experience in video editing
• Knowledge/understanding of storytelling principles
• A keen understanding of the video production process

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Excellent editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Well-developed conceptual skills
• Effective at managing time and efficient workflows
• Able to work well in a collaborative, team-based environment

THE COMPANY OFFERS:

• A package commensurate with technical experience and responsibility of the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with directors and content creators to align their vision to the project objectives
• Including basic audio in edits and working with audio engineers to enhance the story with music and sound design
• Grading and colour correction of edits – to enhance projects’ overall look and feel
• Combining graphics and text into edits (After Effects experience is highly advantageous)
