Rooftop is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer who will be responsible for designing and adding life to concepts across diverse applications for campaigns and projects. This role will deliver exciting design that brings concepts and ideas alive with impact across numerous touch points, that assist in exceeding the client’s expectations, and translate strategies and concepts into innovative and impressive design that impact on target audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12/Matric.
  • A relevant qualification in Graphic Design will be advantageous.
  • A digital portfolio or link to your portfolio showcasing your integrated experience in graphic design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Brings big ideas/concepts to life through leading design ability.
  • Ensuring design applications are strategically aligned and on brief, within budget and presentable.
  • Lead the design application of concepts to be rolled out into 360 campaign applications including print, out of home, social media, moving graphics, UX/UI design etc.
  • Ensuring relevant design assets can translate creatively and practically to video products.
  • Collaborate with the creative team on new business opportunities to develop and shape an approach and design application.
  • Interact with project teams to ensure tone, style and structure support the concept.
  • Develop impactful new business and pitch submissions that aid in securing new campaigns and projects.
  • Work closely with a team to deliver to the objectives of the briefs, ensuring that the team’s creative efforts are impactful.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five years+ of experience in a Graphic Design role.
  • Agency experience would be beneficial.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Finely honed design skills and latest techniques.
  • Ability to see if the design addresses the communication objectives.
  • Ability to create flexible designs for further expansion across various applications from print to out of home, moving graphics and social media/digital.
  • Fully literate in all the latest design software: Adobe (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects).
  • Fully literate in Figma, understanding of UI/UX principles.
  • Knowledge of WordPress builders (Divi and/or Elementor) will be beneficial.
  • Conceptual skills will be an advantage.
  • Strong on running and meeting tight deadlines and can work under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and multi-task.
  • The ability to work as part of a team or individually.
  • Acute observation and an eye for detail.
  • Lead the craft of an idea across multiple applications.
  • Be able to mock-up creative ideas and define the overall aesthetic of campaigns.
  • High levels of motivation and perseverance with a strong belief in the power of design, plus the skills and confidence to express them.
  • Design and produce outstanding creative work within the scope of the campaign brief and beyond.
  • Able to work with Art Director, Copywriter and Executive Creative Director to interpret briefs and deliver fresh ideas.
